The IDA collection represents the very first signature of atelier M12. Conceived and designed by Michaël Martins, this collection draws its inspiration from the minimalist elegance of Swiss design and the refined aesthetics of Japanese design. A true balance between simplicity and elegance. Each piece, thought through to the smallest detail, reflects months of research and refinement, guided by a quest for harmony and timelessness.

Design

The design process began with the desire to create objects focusing on a single material. Wood offers a multitude of options without having to be transformed into a by-product. The concept then evolved into assembling and superimposing planks to make an object.

Aesthetically, we sought a warm, calm appearance. Rounded edges add a softness to the strength of the raw material.

Materials

Designed in solid ash wood, the pieces in the collection celebrate the natural beauty of this noble material. Its luminous hue, oscillating between creamy white and shades of gold or pinkish beige, highlights the richness of its grain and illuminates spaces. Sometimes straight and uniform, sometimes punctuated with wavy or flamed patterns, wood makes every room unique and full of character. The application of matte varnish offers a silky feel to the touch.

Manufacturing

The IDA collection is manufactured in Ollon, in the workshops of Bollschweiler SA. This partnership was made all the more meaningful by the company's remarkable work on the interior design for the CRO project. Their expertise and attention to detail confirmed that they were the ideal partner to bring the IDA collection to life.

Since then, Bollschweiler SA has become an atelier M12 partner, reinforcing a bond of trust based on shared values: sustainability, quality craftsmanship and a shared vision of excellence.
